I love the gollywogs and i hate it that everyone thinks there racist i only have 2 badges from those jars and my mum just got me a gollywog poster yey

Great site, its sad that people of all backgrounds can only enjoy gollys on sites like this. Keep up the good work I hope common sence prevails with the golly issue but I doubt it, now that we have an age where christmas lights are called 'winter lights'

My Mum got me started on collecting Golly items, and can't seem to stop, am so fascinated in them, shame they retired but enjot the site. Came across it as bought a very good book, called 'The GOLLY Collectors handbook, essential read for any collector, enjoyed that as well

As a child I used to recite the following Gollywog poem as my party piece.
Really Mr Gollywog, you are a funny fellow
With button eyes and striped coat
and trousers bright yellow
And when you go to brush your hair
Whatever do you do?
I love you Golly - but I'm glad I'm not like you!
I have no idea where it originated from and haven't seen it referenced on any Golly sites I've visited.

I am desperately searching for lyrics to a song my late Grandma used to sing to me when I was little. I cant remember much of it, but it started "There were six little cots." and the chorus was "There's a golliwog downstairs". I cant find the lyrics or anywhere to buy or download the song on the net, but I wondered as you have such an interest in Gollys you might be able to help please?
